US Department of the Treasury Considers Commemorative $1 Trump Coin Featuring ‘Fight, Fight, Fight’ Wording

Celebrating the semiquincentennial of America's independence, the treasury department is considering the production of a $1 coin showing Donald Trump with a tightened fist under an Stars and Stripes and the inscription “fight, fight, fight”.

Symbolic Link

This inscription directly references what Trump exclaimed immediately after narrowly surviving an assassination attempt several months before he gained a second term.

Official Statement

US Treasurer Beach publicly revealed a concept of the coin on recently via X, stating: “No fake news here. These drafts marking America’s 250th birthday and [Trump] are authentic.”

The social media post – which amplified another user discussing the draft design – stated that Beach looked “excited to reveal additional details” after the end of the partial government shutdown that began after Wednesday night when Democratic senators seeking compromises on healthcare and other budgetary issues refused to provide the support necessary to pass a Republican-backed funding bill.

Legal Background

As highlighted, in 2020, at the close of his first administration, Trump signed jointly supported bill authorizing the treasury secretary to release $1 coins during the upcoming anniversary year that are “emblematic of the United States semiquincentennial”.

Features Elements

The obverse of the coin on whose draft design Beach remarked recently featured Trump’s portrait alongside “Liberty”, “In God we Trust”, and “from 1776 to 2026”.

The reverse alluded to the attempt on Trump’s life at a political rally in PA last year, when law enforcement said a gunman injured Trump’s hearing and wounded two others before being shot to death by the US Secret Service.

Trump raised his fist after the attack – one of two attempted assassinations for him as he won election for a second presidential term in 2024 – and shouted, “Fight, fight, fight!” with an US flag looming nearby.

Official Statement

A response from a department official stated that the draft which Beach’s social media post discussed was not the “official minted version”. But the statement maintained that “this proposal reflects well the lasting character of our land and democracy, even in the midst of significant challenges”.

Public Environment

Trump’s public support on generally has declined to low levels, as his current term has reduced healthcare protections and food aid that helps the needy, while also implementing tariffs that led to a reported increase in consumer prices.

Among other things, the White House has also deployed US armed forces into the urban centers of various municipalities, eliminated roughly $500 million in support for vaccines such as the ones that helped end the coronavirus crisis, and had difficulty to manage a controversy over his past friendship with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
